This print is a silk-screen and was produced in the Watergate Era. There
is a great amount is symbolism. The name was taken from the Beatle's song
and is about Martha Mitchell. She was a colorful character on the Washington
scene. The dome is a symbol for the Capital, the Martha Washington figure
is running through the telephone lines, the mushrooms are depicting her
signature trademark of the parasol, the dam is breaking which is like
her never ending talking, and finally the anopheles mosquito is a pest.
This is all very tongue in cheek and done with humor not to degrade Martha
Mitchell in any way. It was printed on silk screen paper.
