This is an intaglio etching of a butterfly passing a rather large hydrangea. The flower is the focus of this print. The clouds are soft. It is usually printed in Mars violet with a yellow tint or black with a Thalo Turqouise black tint. The plate took approxiamtely fifteen hours to make and it takes about three-quarters of an hour to make a print. The paper of choice is Rives BFK, but can be printed on copperplate or Fabriano.
