continued 3... My Time With Marion |

Marion has shown his work all over the United States and the world. He has many, many awards and sales to his credit and is represented in many prestigious galleries and collections. I am proud to say that I have several works of Marion’s in my personal collection. One piece has what appears to be a mistake. There is a small smear of orange ink where I thought it should not be. Marion has said on many occasions when a student thought his work was not perfect; “only God is perfect”. I love that orange smear! Do you have any idea how freeing that statement is when you are trying to be so precise and perfect. It has freed me many times in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
Marion’s wife, Giety, is an accomplished artist in her own right. She is intelligent and attractive; what a combination. Marion’s older daughter, Rahna, is a successful attorney and his youngest daughter, Maryam, is an art graduate of Mills College. What a wonderful family he has.
I will forever be grateful for my time, and for future times, with Professor Marion Austin Epting and for his continuing mentoring, encouragement and friendship.
